Day 01: LABUAN BAJO - ARRIVAL (LD).
Upon arrival at Komodo airport of Labuan Bajo on Flores Island, our
local guide will meet you then transfer to Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge for
hotel checking in. Drive down town to Nirwana restaurant for
lunch. In the afternoon visit Mirror cave (=Gua Batu Cermin)
to see stalactites and stalagmites then to Puncak Waringin to
see the Labuan Bajo filled bay town at Sunset. Dinner serves at
Nirwana or Borobudur sea view restaurant. Stay overnight at Bajo
Komodo Eco Lodge or New Bajo Beach Resort.
Day 02: LABUAN BAJO – RINCA ISLAND – KOMODO ISLAND (BLD).
Early morning transfer to Labuan Bajo
harbor in 10 minutes then embark on a fisherman
wooden boat which have been modified to enable for carrying
tourist. The sailing journey to Rinca Island is 3 hours. Arrive at
Loh Buaya take a 3 hours trekking inland with first stop at
Forestry Conservation Post for ID registration then continue
exploring the island’s wildlife including the Komodo Dragons,
the giant reptile on earth (some of them usually stays around under
the stage of ranger’s houses), water buffalos, wild boar, deer,
monkey, and various colourful birds. At midday hike down back to
boat for lunch and sailing towards Komodo Island.
Dinner and stay overnight ON BOARD (on open deck – well
organized for your comfortable staying overnight) near by Komodo
island bay.
Day 03: KOMODO ISLAND – PINK BEACH – LABUAN BAJO (BLD).
After breakfast sailing closer to Loh Liang station and take an
hour mild trekking to Banugulung, former feeding ground to see
Komodo in the wild. During our way into the
“Jurassic
Park”
you will see colourful birds, wild boar, deer, and other
natural livings. Since feeding activity was stopped some years
ago as to allow the Komodo Dragons to go back to their natural
habitants, the opportunity to see them is depend on how far you go
inland and how patient you wait. On the way back from Banunggulung
we will stop at Museum Komodo to see various collections
such as fossils of snake, dragon, wild horse, water buffalo, fish of
different type, and more.
Back
to boat for lunch and sailing to Pink beach (=Pantai Merah).
Here you can spend sometime for snorkeling or swimming
in the clear crystal water - a lot of beautiful coral reefs and
colorful fishes to explore beneath this sea. Sail back to
Labuan Bajo. Dinner serves at Nirwana or Borobudur sea view
restaurant. Stay overnight at Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge or at
New Bajo Beach Resort.
Day 04: LABUAN BAJO - RUTENG (BLD).
Drive overland to Ruteng - a cool and small town as the
capital city of Manggarai Regency where major Mangarainese tribe
dwelt. On the way stop at Lembor for lunch at a local restaurant,
Then take an off road driving down to Todho - an old
village hiding down in the valley - here you will see the most
traditional house of Manggarainese tribe with tall thatch
roofing house form like spider web. Drive back to the
Trans Flores high way and on to Cancar village from where you will
see “lingko” - a large spider-web-rice-field. Dinner
serves at Merlyn restaurant in Ruteng town. Stay overnight
at Hotel Dahlia.
Day 05: RUTENG - BAJAWA (BLD).
Depart to Bajawa. Stops en route for visiting Liang Bua, a
natural cave that has internationally been recorded in National
Geography as an interesting historical site from which some
archeological experts founded fossils of
short and small man of
Flores
known as “Homo Floresiensis”. Next stops would be at

Ranamese - a beautiful mountain lake, at
Aimere for seeing process of making local alcoholic liquor
known as 'arak or tuak', and for lunch.
Continue to Bajawa town. Dinner serves at Lucas restaurant.
Stay
overnight at Hotel Bintang Wisata.
Day 06: BAJAWA (BLD).
Early morning drive and hike up to Wolobobo hill-top for
witnessing the most spectacular golden sunrise. This is the
best spot to view the sunrise. Return to hotel for breakfast then
excursion to LANGA, LUBA and BENA, the three
“living museum” traditional villages. “NGADHU and
BHAGA”, the symbols of male and female ancestors are
risen in the middle of the village yard. And the megalithic altars,
men-hirs, and cult houses are utmost beauty
of
Flores traditional villages.
In the afternoon drive to Mengeruda for soaking up into warm
spring at Soa. Quite an experience in water runs down in
cascades. Return to Bajawa town. Dinner serves at Lucas
restaurant. Stay overnight at Hotel Bintang Wisata.
Day 07: BAJAWA – ENDE - DETUSOKO (BLD).
Depart to Detusoko via the capital town of Ende. Stop at Penggajawa
bay for seeing beautiful beach that filled with green stones,
then at Ende for visiting Museum Bung Karno, the house of
Indonesia’s late President Ir. Soekarno
when he was exiled in 1934 - 1938, and at Istana Bamboo restaurant
for lunch. Continue to Wolotopo traditional village where houses
set on rock terraces with an ancestral shrine is kept on the
highest point of it. Back to the Trans Flores high way and on
towards Detusoko. Next stop before Detusoko would be made according
to local happenings. Dinner and stay overnight at St. Franciscan
Guest House.
Day 08: DETUSOKO – KELIMUTU - MAUMERE (BLD).
Excursion to Kelimutu, the inexplicably three colored crater lakes
(The Colors As Of
August 14, 2006: DARK BLUE, TURQUOISE, AND BLACK
COKE).
Explore this world wanders for one or two hours then drive down to
Moni traditional village for seeing the tall thatched roofing
house of Lio tribe. Continue to Maumere with stops following
the local happenings. Lunch serves at Mbu Wisata – a simple sea
view restaurant in Paga Beach. Dinner serves at Bunaken restaurant
on the harbor of Maumere. Stay overnight at Flores Sao Resort
or Sea World Club Cottages.
Day 09: MAUMERE (BLD).
Excursion to Wuring fishing village where Buginese
stilt houses stretching down the lowest tide line. Back to
Maumere town and onto Maumere daily market. Continue to Ledalero -
a major Catholic Seminary - to visit the Blikon Blewut
Museum with its various collections of local royal families'
old portraits, antique hand woven clothes, stegedont (=giant
elephant) fossils, etc. Return to Maumere town for lunch at Bunaken
restaurant on the harbor. Afternoon excursion to Watublapi village
for seeing cultural performance of old Sikka tradition
includes traditional dances and hand weaving process using
hand spun cotton and natural dying colors. Drive back to
hotel. Farwell dinner serves at Bunaken restaurant on the harbor.
Stay overnight at Flores Sao Resort or at
Sea World Club Cottages.
Day 10: MAUMERE - DEPARTURE (B).
In the morning relax on the beach. Lunch serves at hotel
then transfer out to Wai Oti airport for catching your flight to
next destination. Tour Ends!
